February Newsletter                        

This year has already brought about several changes, but everyone is adjusting well.

The Valentine’s Day party will be on Tuesday, February 14^th at 2:30pm.  The kids will get to enjoy cupcakes, chips and cookies, and they will get goody bags and have a chance to exchange Valentine’s Day cards. 

Day care will be closed Monday, February 20^th in observance of President’s Day.  Please refer to your 2012 holiday schedule for scheduled day care closings.  As a convenience, the 2012 holiday schedule is also posted near the sign-in sheet, and all of the 2012 scheduled closings were notated in the pocket calendars that were given out last month.

Everyone was given a copy of the Policy and Procedure Manual and physical forms.  Please keep the Policy and Procedure Manual handy so that you can refer back to it as needed.  Also, please return completed physical forms by the end of March.  I am in the process of updating all of the children’s records, and it is very important that I have updated physical forms and shot records for all of the children that are enrolled.

The preschool children are working on spelling and tracing their names.  The kindergarten children are working on reading and learning important rules for long vowel sounds.  Also, they are working on recognizing their numbers 1-100.  Please use the tools that were sent home in their folders to help them work on these things at home.  Lastly, we have worked our way up to the Dolch 2^nd grade sight words.  Please continue to reinforce all of the sight words at home.  So far they have been introduced to the pre-primer, primer, 1^st grade and 2^nd grade sight words.
